Now that Portia de Rossi has joined Twitter, she is revealing new things about herself to her wife Ellen DeGeneres.

On Thursday, de Rossi tweeted a "Throwback Thursday" picture of her parents on their wedding day. She then asked DeGeneres if she had ever seen it.

DeGeneres then joked that she was learning so much about her wife through Twitter. de Rossi officially joined Twitter for the first time in honor of Scandal's premiere last week. de Rossi joined the show this season as the head of the Republican National Committee.

Previously actor Jeff Perry who plays Cyrus on the show revealed to TV Guide that de Rossi's character would be working with him and she would figure "prominently" as a "professional in politics" this season. He will be part of her arc as he and President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) have a "renewed focus on work."

de Rossi joked with EOnline that Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes finally picked up her phone after much begging from the actress. "She finally took the call and we had a meeting and she came up with a magnificent character for me and I could not be happier," de Rossi revealed. "Shonda Rhimes is a genius."

Scandal airs Thursday's on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.
