In addition to updating fans on when the film is slated to begin production, the official title of the movie has been revealed in full for the first time as well-Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland.

While an official plot for the film has not been revealed as of yet, the movie is expected to be about Alex (Darin Brooks) and Sammy's (Romansaki) senior year at Blue Mountain State University, as the television show the film is based off of only followed them through their junior year at the fictional party school with a strong football program.

Also scheduled to return for the film are Alan Ritchson (the titular Thad), Denise Richards (Debra), Ed Marinaro (Coach Marty Daniels), and Sam Jones III (Craig Shilo).

Jones is one of the more notable cast members to return for the movie, as his character left the show after the first season after he encountered several legal difficulties, including drug trafficking charges which alleged he was part of a gang which had planned to purchase and distribute more than 10,000 Oxycodone pills.
