Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison recently discussed her character Emma's relationship with Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and why she considers both of them to be pirates.

Morrison appeared on Good Morning America on Friday where she talked Emma's journey through Season 4 and how similar she is to Hook.

"Emma's really accepted that Storybrooke is home and she's never really had a true home before so she's trying to be a good mother, she's trying to be a good daughter, she's opening herself up to the possibility of romance with Captain Hook," Morrison noted, "so she's definitely very vulnerable in a way that she never has been before so these are new challenges for her to face emotionally and that can be a little uncomfortable and complicated at times."

Talking about Emma's relationship with Hook, Morrison shared that they've both been through so much in their lives while striving to be better people.

"He has been through a lot of similar things to her. They're both pirates in their own sense," she admitted. "They've had to scramble to survive, they've made some terrible mistakes, but they're overcoming them and they're both fighting to be better versions of themselves."

Emma and Hook have been a bit preoccupied with going back in time and getting trapped behind an ice wall to really talk through their relationship, so it remains to be seen what becomes of "CaptainSwan."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
