Problems at the practice could lead to additional problems for Danny (Chris Messina) and Mindy's (Mindy Kaling) romance on the newest episode of The Mindy Project.

Mindy Catches Danny In A 'Huge' Lie

There's a new head of obstetrics (guest star Niecy Nash) at the hospital, and after she gets the wrong impression of Shulman and Associates, Mindy will take it into her own hands to improve the practice's image-but naturally her good intentions will have some disastrous results.

After a night out on the town in an effort to win over their new boss, Mindy will be put in an awkward position after the boss goes in for a kiss-and she could be forced to question her sexuality, and her relationship with Danny as a result.

Danny Still Married To His Ex-Wife?

"I think I'm gay," she announces to Danny, Jeremy (Ed Weeks) and Peter (Adam Pally) in a preview clip for the October 14 episode, titled The Devil Wears Lands End.

Though she is likely only pretending for now in the hopes it will win the practice back some of the boss's favor, her announcement will still put her and Danny's relationship into a tailspin-especially when he comes to her defense after the boss finds out about Mindy's lie.

"She is definitely straight! She doesn't do all the things straight girls do, but she's straight," he says in the clip.

And while the new couple tries to sort out the work and relationship mess they're in now, Peter will be focused on trying to win his fraternity's Dartmouth alumni beer pong tournament (where he will be facing last year's champion-guest star Shonda Rhimes as herself). But after his original partner backs out, he will need to out his rivalry with Jeremy aside in order to stay in the competition.

The Mindy Project airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on FOX.
