The highly anticipated 200th episode of Fox's Bones is up ahead and the theme of the episode has been revealed: Alfred Hitchcock.

Downton Abbey Star Becomes Prime Suspect For Murder on New Episode of Bones

Bones will be paying tribute to Hitchcock, the legendary horror film director, for the show's 200th episode, according to a new TVLine report. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) will essentially be stuck in a '50s Hitchcock-inspired suspense thriller in the episode, per the report.

However, Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan mentioned that this will not necessarily be an alternate reality type of episode.

Hodgins Suspected For Murder At Forensic Science Convention In Upcoming Episode

"It's not an alternate reality, it's as if Booth and Brennan existed in this world - would they still get together?" Nathan explained. "Everyone is sort of playing their own characters."

The episode will feature "vintage cars, different sets and all those old processed shots they did in the 50s. It's going to be a Technicolor spectacular," Nathan continued.

Airing on Dec. 11, the episode is appropriately titled The 200th in the 10th, in reference to the show's current tenth season.

Hitchcock movies are known for often having murder in them, so Bones should have no trouble molding itself to the '50s style. The quirky chemistry between Brennan and Booth could also be easily adapted to Hitchcock. The director had a number of different genres he used within the suspense/thriller umbrella, from straight-up horror like Pyscho to the more psychological in Vertigo. It remains to be seen which specific style Bones will use for its landmark episode.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
