Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) though she was alone at HYDRA, but Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) had her back - and an exit plan - the entire time. The undercover agent pulled Simmons out of the lion's den just in time, and the biochem genius looked ready to follow Mockingbird back into the fray by time "A Hen in the Wolf House" came to a close.

"If it hadn't been for Bobbi I would never have made it out," Simmons told Coulson (Clark Gregg). "Probably would be brainwashed, happy to comply to who knows what. She's amazing."

Considering Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) has found new friends in Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) and Mac (Henry Simmons), Simmons may grow closer to the women of Coulson's team as season 2 progresses. According to Palicki, Bobbie certainly will.

"[Mockingbird] gets along wonderfully with them," Palicki said of SHIELD's female contingency, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I got to work with Elizabeth pretty much the entire first episode I was in, and she's one of my favorite people. I have to give these writers and producers so much credit, because in a world where it's scarce to see female characters like this, they've brought in multiple strong female characters in one setting. It's such an awesome thing for young women everywhere. You have every level: The one that kicks ass, the one that's the brains. They're all strong in different ways."
