Usain Bolt will be taking part in the Olympic 2012 100M final at 4.50 p.m. ET. On Saturday the world’s fastest man eased through his first race in a time of 10.08 seconds, and earlier Sunday won his semi final in 9.87 seconds. The 100 Meter final can be watched online through live stream at 4.50 p.m. ET (link below). Also below are details of all of Bolt’s events and race schedules for the rest of the London 2012 Olympics.
The Olympic Games has seen some fantastic contests so far, but London 2012 is looking forward to the men's sprints and millions around the world are waiting to see Usain Bolt in action.
The London Olympic stadium track in east London has proven to be super fast since the track and field events commenced on Friday, and many are predicting world records will fall en mass throughout the second week of the Games. Bolt is used to breaking world records, and he will be looking to defeat his own world record in the 100 meters on Sunday in front of 80,000 spectators at the Olympic stadium.
Fans can look forward to seeing Bolt compete for three different gold medals overall at London 2012.
Bolt is set to compete in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter, as well as the 4x100 meter relay; all of which the Jamaican is a defending Olympic champion, as well as world record holder.
Jamaica and Bolt will be favorites for the 4x100 meter relay event. However, the relay has a history of springing up surprises, and many favorites in the past have found the pressure of the occasion too much for them. For the two other individual races Bolt faces stiff opposition, and many analysts are suggesting that Bolt will be unable to retain all three of his titles this year.
Bolt will have to be in his best form to ensure he takes the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter event. However, he is the man millions are most looking forward to seeing at this year’s Olympic Games and he will be sure to receive one of the biggest cheers from the crowd, who will be willing him to cross the finish line in first, and hopefully in world record time. Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell will be Bolt’s main threats in the 100 meter dash.
