Stars of the Divergent series keep promising that the next movie will be even bigger with more action for fans to get excited about, but the lead star also talks about how grounded the film will feel as it takes the time to give its characters more moments to grow.

'Insurgent' Star Talks About Growing Up In The Movies & Her New Indie Film

Speaking with MTV on Friday, Shailene Woodley talked about what audiences could expect from Insurgent and the amount of action that was on the way.

"It's definitely going to have a lot more action, and I think it's more character-driven in a lot of ways," she said.

She also talked about new director Robert Schwentke and what he brought to the series after Divergent director Neil Burger didn't return.

"Robert is definitely an actors' director. He was very keen on hearing our opinions about our characters, and collaborating on everything - whether it be the way that she looked, her hair, her makeup, her wardrobe," Woodley said.

"[We were] collaborating on dialogue, if it felt grounded and truthful. Not only to him, but to me as well. If something felt off-cantor, he would stop production, we would walk away and figure it out and go back, which is something that doesn't always happen on big movies. I really felt like he was protecting the sacredness of the story, within the world of big-budget film."

With Woodley's character Tris on the run in this film, the actress has talked previously about the film giving some real focus to her and Four's (Theo James) relationship and the moments the characters get together. There is also the relationship with her on-screen brother Caleb (Ansel Elgort).

Insurgent hits theaters on March 20, 2015.
