Waltrip and his pro dancing partner Emma Slater have made it to Week 8 of the competition and he is part of the Final 7 celebs still left. He spoke with ABC7 after Monday night's show and admitted that he would still like to make the Finals even though he feels that he has let down his fans.

"I would love to be in the Finals," Waltrip said. "And I would love to do it for my fans and the folks that vote for us. Tonight, I feel like I let them down somewhat and I don't want that. I want them to be proud to vote for Michael and Emma."

Waltrip has stayed in the competition due to his passionate NASCAR fanbase as well as his entertaining performances. While he is not the most technically proficient dancer, he seems to have captured the hearts of many DWTS fans as he tries his hardest each week.

Meanwhile, Slater is not too beat up about receiving low scores.

"What I and my beautiful partner here went through tonight was phenomenal," she said in the same interview. "I'll never forget it. We got 5s. So what? I'm so over that. I'm so over being that couple that are trying to get numbers. Darn it, we're different! We're different. As long as we can stay in the competition - which I really hope - let's just keep being different until we get kicked off."

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
