It sounds like Tom Branson is about to experience some intense moments on Downton Abbey based on something the actor mentioned.

Is 'Downton Abbey' Coming To An End?

On Monday, People posted an interview with Allen Leech (Tom) who revealed that he needs to prepare for what's to come for his character.

"There are a couple of things coming up in the series that I'm bracing for, for my character alone," he said last Thursday at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards.

He didn't mention what exactly it is that's coming for Tom, but that's probably because the actor has had to be careful when it comes to releasing spoilers.

"I used to live in a house with four guys, all of my friends," Leech said. "I had to be very careful where the scripts were left because suddenly you'd come in and someone would [say], 'I couldn't help but see that episode four was there.' I was like, 'Oh, my God!' So I tend not to tell anyone. Not even family. No one gets it out of me, which is good!"

Despite the fact that he can't say specific details are coming, the actor mentioned a couple that will be worth watching.

"Downton is again in a period of change," Leech said. "The first socialist government comes in, and you have a very conservative house very worried about it. And there are great story lines for characters like Edith, and where she was left at the end of the last [season]. Is she going to be able to deal with the fact that her child is basically no longer hers? Some really, really great stuff."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in the United States on Sunday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
