It looks as though there might be a real life Glorida Delgado in Sofia Vergara's life. The actress has revealed that she used a real life inspiration while coming up with her Modern Family character.

According to the Latin Times on Thursday, Vergara said that Gloria Delgado is based on her aunt, Gloria Vergara.

She said, "To me, the production team asked me several names, especially one that was no already registered in any other show. I just hinted at the name 'Gloria Delgado' and they liked it."

She added, "When you do certain roles, you regularly draw inspiration from other people. In this case, I did so with my aunt - though she is not as tawdry, not as scandalous as how I embody her on the series.

Meanwhile, it looks as though Vergara might have ended her relationship with her ex-fiance Nick Loeb because he was interested in having a family while she was more focused on her career.

According to the Daily Mail last Thursday, the 39-year-old New Yorker said that he wanted to get married and have kids, but Vergara wasn't interested in going down the family route.

He said, "She focused on her career. The most important thing for me is to get married and have kids. I completely understand. She's at the height of her career, and as she says all the time, she's taking advantage of her 15 minutes of fame because who knows how long that will last."
