'Castle' Season 7: 'Keep Your Eyes Out' For Significant Beckett Moment

One of the upcoming episodes of Castle centers on a routine murder investigation that goes awry for Esposito and Ryan (Seamus Dever). The episode, titled Kill Switch, features a hostage situation on a subway.

Castle show runner David Amann spoke with TVGuide.com this week about the episode, which centers on Esposito.

"Esposito and Ryan are in pursuit of a guy who we think is potentially a second victim," Amann previewed. "Esposito follows him into a subway, and the guy sees that he's a cop, pulls a gun and holds the car hostage. Our people on the outside are trying to figure out: 'Who is this guy, really, because he clearly isn't who we thought he was.'"

This entire situation forces Esposito to put things into perspective when it comes to his relationship with Lanie (Tamala Jones).

"It does make him reflect on his relationship with Lanie, and consider its importance in his life," Amann noted.

This episode is set to air on Monday, Nov. 24.

"When subway passengers, including Detective Esposito, are taken hostage by a mysterious gunman, Castle [Nathan Fillion], Beckett [Stana Katic] and the team must uncover the gunman's agenda before it's too late," the ABC plot synopsis for the episode reads.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
