The retired Navy SEAL first appeared in season 2, and Steve McGarrett's former Commanding Officer will soon be back on the Oahu.

"#H50 spoiler cause you asked for it. Guess who's back," teased executive producer Peter Lenkov alongside a photo of Terry O'Quinn on Friday.

Joe was instrumental in helping McGarrett in his pursuit of Wo Fat and Shelburn, but now that those mysteries are put to rest, the father figure might fall back on his secondary role - getting McGarrett out of trouble.

A tweet from O'Quinn, however, indicates that Joe could be the one to bring the problems this time around.

"Joe will be back soon...bringin' trouble," O'Quinn teased in early November.

In the meantime, Five-0 will have murders and engagements to deal with. Aunt Deb will return during "Ka Hana Mal? (Inside Job)" while McGarrett's team will investigate a couple's murder. Much to Steve's surprise, his Aunt will bring her new beau along for the trip.
