One Direction News: Matt Lauer Asks If Zayn Malik Missed Band's Appearance Because Of Drug Abuse [Video]
One Direction made an appearance on Today on Monday morning, however, one member on the group was missing and Matt Lauer wants to know why.
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Thomlinson and Niall Horan joined Matt Lauer and Al Rocker this morning to promote their new album When Zayne Malik failed to show up to his appearance on Today, viewers were left with some unanswered questions.
Finally Matt Lauer asked what everyone was thinking, if Zayne was missing because of his rumored substance abuse however viewers soon learned that substance abuse was not the reason Zayne was unable to join his band mates.

Band mate Liam Payne cleared rumors of substance abuse by explaining the reason behind Malik's absense saying 'He's got a tummy bug, but he's okay.'
According to Today.com, Payne said 'We only found out this morning so we're really sad, he is as well, that he can't be here for our album release... It's still going to be a great day, I'm sure.'
Of course Matt Lauer's question was not going to sit well with One Direction fans.
