The US Track and Field team took gold in the Women's 4x400 Meter Relay on Saturday at the London Olympics 2012. The US crossed the finish line in 3 Minutes and 16.87 seconds. This is the 5th consecutive Olympic title for the US in this event.

"We thought it was going to be really tight, but I'm so proud of these girls, we're a great team," DeeDee Trotter, a US runner in the relay said.

The all-star team for the Women's 4x400 Relay also included Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards-Ross, both of whom have won medals at the the London Olympics in individual races.

The opening leg of the relay began with Trotter securing a big lead for the US team. Felix ran second and created an even bigger lead before handing it over to Francena McCorory.

"I was pumped up. I was running on adrenaline tonight," Felix said after the great win.

Richards-Ross ran the final leg without any stress of losing since the US team was clearly in for the gold.

"This is what I've always dreamt about," Richards-Ross said. "To win the 400. I did that. And then to come out here and have what I call the sprinkles, because the 400 was my cake and icing, so it was just awesome."

Russia finished second in 3:20.23 and Jamaica was third in 3:20.95 in the 4x400 Relay.
