Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough took to his blog this week to tease whether he will be involved in season 20 in the spring.

Hough and his celebrity partner Bethany Mota were eliminated from the competition the day before the finale. The five-time champion admitted that neither of them were too surprised about it in his TVGuide.com blog this week.

"I think this was a really competitive and close final that we were prepared for anything," Hough wrote. "I think some people are surprised because people assumed that because Bethany has a lot of followers, we'd make it. But that's not the full picture. There are so many other factors at play, and it'd be erroneous to assume that every single one of your followers and fans will be voting every week - not just for Bethany, but everyone."

Hough said that Mota is already a winner in how much she has improved over the course of the season and that fourth place isn't so bad. After all, Hough has made it to the finale for the previous four seasons so he felt okay with sitting this one out.

Moving on to next season, Hough seems confident that he will be a part of it, considering this will be the 10 year anniversary of the show, though he wouldn't reveal anything specific about returning as a pro dancer.

"As for next season, it's still too early to say, but I can't imagine not being part of the 10-year anniversary somehow," he wrote. I can't believe it will be 10 years! Time flies, man! It's crazy how this little summer dancing show has grown into this huge phenomenon. I'm just lucky and thankful to have been part of it."

Dancing With the Stars is set to return for its landmark 20th season on ABC in March.
