According to Daily Mail, in her first interview since her husband was reinstated to the league on Saturday, Janay Rice suggested that Goodell had lied about seeing a second video of the domestic video incident in order to save himself.

"I can't say he's telling the truth," she told NBC's Today Show in footage due to air on Monday. "I know for a fact that...Ray told the honest truth."

Footage showed Ray knock out his then fiancé out cold in an Atlantic City elevator and Goodell's response was to claim that the former Ravens running back was "ambiguous" in describing the February elevator attack, according to Daily Mail.

In the interview, Janay said, "I think they did what they had to do for themselves."

Ray is now eligible to sign with any NFL team after his indefinite suspension from the NFL was dropped on appeal by a U.S. District Judge, reported Daily Mail.

Janay also said that she is confident that her husband, a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ will once again wear an NFL uniform.

"He's proven himself as a football player for seven years," she said. "There's never been a question on what he can do on the field."
