Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain apparently couldn’t hide his excitement after he heard some of his band mate’s solo projects.

During an episode of the Foo Fighters’ HBO series, Sonic Highways, Nirvana’s drummer Dave Grohl said Cobain had asked him to hear what he’d been working on when they were on tour in 1992. After hearing one of the songs - “Alone + Easy Target” - the late singer kissed him.

“Kurt heard that, and kissed me on the face, as he was in a bath,” Grohl said during the latest episode on Friday. “He was so excited. He was like, ‘I heard you recorded some stuff with Barrett [Jones].’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ He was like, ‘Let me hear it.’ I was too afraid to be in the same room as he listened to it.”

“Alone + Easy Target” was later featured on the Foo Fighters’ self-titled debut album released in 1995.

The eight-episode HBO show, which premiered in October and was created by Grohl, is intended to commemorate the band’s 20th year anniversary. The Foo Fighters also released its eighth album of the same on Nov. 10. Sonic Highways went to No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
