Vanderpump, of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules spoke with People on Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice's money woes recently and said that the couple should "regroup."

"But, I just have so much empathy for her. As a mother going to an unknown situation being separated from her children."

Still, Vanderpump said that other women can learn from Teresa's mistakes.

"Of course there's a message. Let's not just sign things without knowing what they are. I think a lot of women just go, 'Oh, Ok then.' I think we need to say, 'No. What exactly is this?'"

Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison after she and Joe agreed to a plea deal earlier this year. They were both indicted last year for federal fraud charges that included loan, mortgage, bankrupt and tax evasion.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is set to begin her prison stint on Jan. 5. Joe will begin his once she is finished. He was handed a little more than three years behind bars.
