Blake Shelton knows who he is as a country artist. Fiercely loyal to his fans and incredibly defensive against his critics, the country star has never had any trouble speaking his mind. In fact, it's even gotten him into some tabloid trouble on occasion.

Married to New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker, Jessie James talked football and country music with USA Today on Wednesday.

"Blake Shelton is the Rex Ryan of country music," she revealed when asked to give a sports and music comparison. "He has a lot of personality and [is] very vocal."

Ryan is of course the dedicated Jets Coach, who has developed a reputation for being extremely vocal in his own right.

Shelton does fit this description. He is always willing to give his honest or blunt opinion on something, particulary when people begin speculating about his marriage.  

This week Shelton celebrated as his wife, country star Miranda Lambert, was honored at the CMT Artists of the Year Ceremony in Nashville on Tuesday.
