Jennifer Aniston might have a lot of good friends in her life, but it looks like even she gets into awkward situations with her famous pals from Hollywood. Rumor has it that the actress was caught in the middle of a spat between Sean Penn and Charlize Theron while the trio were dining at a Los Angeles hotspot recently.

According to Star Magazine on Monday, things got so bad between Theron and Penn that Aniston paid her portion of the bill and left their dinner date before things got worse. Aniston's fiancé, Justin Theroux, was reportedly on the East Coast working on his latest project in New York City during the time.

A source supposedly told the site, "All three of them looked like they were having fun when they first sat down. They were laughing and seemed relaxed. But halfway into the dinner, you could tell Charlize started to feel left out."

The source added, "The tension between Sean and Charlize was evident to the entire restaurant. About 15 minutes, he and Jen got the check and said their goodbyes. He went and got Charlize, but they didn't speak as they walked out."

It looks like this wasn't the first time Theron and Penn have had a public argument. Apparently, the couple have been having "explosive fights" since they officially got together as a couple late last year.

The insider apparently said, "Sean feels suffocated and Charlize hates his noncommittal attitude. Both of them have very strong personalities and are used to getting their way, so the smallest problem triggers a massive argument."
