Fifth Harmony's Dinah Jane Hansen Talks About Girl Group's Revelation 'To Start Working On Ourselves'

On Monday, Chicago Tribune published an interview with Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Kordei Hamilton, Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke Hernandez, in which the girls talked about girl groups from the past and how they have influenced them presently.

The girls were asked, "Who is the last girl group to really make it big in the music industry?"

That led to Cabello, Hansen, Hamilton, Jauregui and Hernandez shouting over each other with their respective answers.

The Pussycat Dolls, Destiny's Child and Danity Kane were among their mixed responses.

Hamilton then commented that Simon Cowell who is partly responsible for them existing has said, "I want you to be the biggest band in the world."

Cabello claims the band has grown so much despite their short time together (they formed in 2012). Their debut album, Reflection, is due out Jan. 27. She said, "When [fans] hear this album it's going to be sides of us that they haven't seen before. We haven't gotten to showcase them and we finally [will] in this new music. And also with a new album and new music comes a whole different era: style changes, the shows change, the choreography changes. It's like a regeneration of us."

She also said previous girl groups definitely inspire them since they grew up listening to them. "There's different things in each girl group that we kind of connect to, like the Spice Girls and their authenticity and personality. And the fierceness of The Pussycat Dolls and the vocals of Destiny's Child," she stated.
