New Furious 7 Poster Featuring Villain Jason Statham Unveiled?

The picture which doubles up as an introductory poster has a bit by Russell's character quoted on there: "You and our friends are a part of this now." Russell's character in the film has been shrouded in mystery thus far, even his name has not been given away yet.

Earrlier this year, Russell spoke about finishing scenes he was initially doing with Paul Walker, with his brothers instead, in an interview.

What We Know So Far About Furious 7

Russell spoke with the Portland Press Herald stating that they were "trying to work the best magic they can to make Fast & Furious 7 complete."

The 63-year-old actor had returned to finish two scenes he had to do with Walker, which were now to be done with Cody and Caleb.

Russell's character was reportedly meant to play a father-figure to Paul Walker in the film, but as it has also been suggested that Russell's role will stretch into the next installment of the series as well, IGN asked him if Walker's death would change things.

The actor then clarified that he was not exactly playing father-figure to Walker's character, Brian O'Connor. "He's really more connected to Vin's character," he said.

Russell's part has been rumored to be that of a cop but the actor suggested that there is no boxing the character, and that he is "presented as one thing, but you have a big suspicion that he's another."

He also went on to say that Diesel's character's family will be very suspicious of him. "It was always going to be Vin's character who he was a father figure to -- but he's either a good one or a bad one," he added.

The news of Russell coming on board was confirmed in September last year.

Fast and Furious 7 will hit theaters in April 3, 2015.
