Johnny Manziel had a bumpy start to his professional career and he's ending it on a low note with a hamstring injury.

Johnny Manziel Suffers Hamstring Injury During Second Professional Start & Is Pulled From The Game

On Sunday, Manziel started for his second time, but ultimately had to leave the game late in the first half due to a hamstring injury.

The Cleveland Browns rookie was hit by the Carolina Panthers safety Colin Jones by the sideline on a designed quarterback run. Manziel got up and headed over to the huddle, but he fell back down. Trainers examined him on the field and then in the locker room.

Sunday, ESPN's website reported after the game, which the Browns lost, 17-13, that Manziel said he "felt a little tight in my hamstring."

Monday, NFL's website reported Manziel's season was officially over. Cleveland Browns Coach Mike Pettine said the rookie's injury was "pretty significant."

Pettine also revealed the injury is a "several-week" one as reported by Bleacher Report.

Manziel finished his rookie season with 18-of-35 for 175 yards, no passing touchdowns and two interceptions. He also had 29 rushing yards with one touchdown.

ESPN's website further reported that Pettine revealed, "The sample size is tough," when discussing Manziel's short time on the field.

"Going back and looking at it, he did some good things ... It is unfortunate he got hurt," he added.

On Sunday, ESPN's website reported that Manziel wants to be the Browns "guy."

"That's what I want to do and that's what I want to be for this organization, so for me, if anything, this has motivated me more to head into this offseason," Manziel stated.
