Those who are spending the holidays in New York City are in luck because the city truly never sleeps. There are several famous attractions open on Christmas Day that are worth checking out.

1) The Empire State Building is open 365 days a year, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

2) Top of the Rock is open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to midnight. You could also check out the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree once you’re there.

3) Madame Tussauds New York is also open 365 days a year, so why not spend the day taking pictures with all your favorite people?

4) Central Park’s zoo, carousel and the ice skating rink will be open while a two-hour holiday sights tour is also available.

5) 9/11 Memorial is open from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. while the museum is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

6) You can also enjoy some food at the legendary Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.

7) Many Broadway shows are closed on Christmas, but not all. You can still catch "Mamma Mia," "Wicked' and "Les Miserables."

8) Finally, you can also head to the movie theater to watch a film.
