2015 will certainly be an interesting year for several Port Charles residents, as nearly all of their love lives are set to take some very unexpected twists and turns on General Hospital.

Maxie and Nathan Race To Meet Before Midnight

2014 was a tumultuous year for so many of them because of their love lives, and it looks as if their pasts will bring them all into a very interesting future-starting with Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Duke (Ian Buchanan).

The two friends enjoyed a spontaneous kiss at Midnight on New Year's Eve-and now, they may explore the chemistry between them further in the New Year.

Patrick and Sam Continue To Grow Closer

"I certainly wasn't expecting that," Lucy says to Duke in a preview clip for the Friday, Jan. 2 episode.

Also potentially receiving a major shock will be Duke's ex, Anna (Finola Hughes), who wound up sharing a kiss with Agent Sloane (Robb Derringer), who is trying to put her behind bars for what she did to Faison. And though the kiss was just because of the clock hitting midnight, Sloane will surprise Anna with a shocking confession.

"I enjoyed the dance, and the kiss," he says.

And while these new potential pairings could definitely shake things up, two other couples who have recently begun seeing one another could also find themselves in an interesting place in the New Year. Ric (Rick Hearst) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) rekindled their flame after he came back from Witness Protection, and will continue taking their romance to a new level.

"Why don't you come up to my room with me?" he asks her in the clip.

And of course, potentially one of the more shocking couples to emerge during the New Year will be Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Patrick (Jason Thompson), who will finally consummate their relationship after denying their feelings for so long.

"Spend the night with me," Sam says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
