There will apparently be a big segment in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that will likely serve as a special visual effects sequence for the blockbuster.

'Batman v Superman' Star Amy Adams Says Ben Affleck Is 'Hot' As Batman

Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Joe Letteri, of Weta Digital, recently spoke about an important scene that was being devised for Batman v Superman.

"The sequence that we're doing is sort of self-contained, and I don't think you would've seen any of that yet," Letteri told Collider in a recent interview. "I can't really give any away, but it is a standalone sequence and I think you'll be able to pick it out when you do see it."

Weta Digital is one of the most noteworthy visual effects companies in the world, having won five Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects. The company received trophies for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, King Kong and Avatar.

In 2014 alone they provided visual effects for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Godzilla and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. As such, fans should expect something pretty significant if Letteri is already hyping it up.

It is possible that this sequence features Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) facing off in a huge, effects-driven battle. However, with the film's story being largely shrouded in secrecy, the sequence could be of anything.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
