Months after his split from Shelby Woods, which occurred during filming on Teen Mom season 5, the reality star and father of 6-year-old Bentley appears to be ready to distance himself from his ex.

"Distance sometimes lets you know who's worth keeping and who's worth letting go," read the re-tweet, which was shared by Edwards on Tuesday. Around the same time, he re-tweeted a second message, which read, "The best things in life aren't things."

When fans last saw him on Teen Mom, Edwards was dating Dalis Connell, a fitness blogger. However, shortly after the series wrapped, the couple parted ways. After a couple of brief relationships in early 2013, Edwards began dating Woods.

Prior to their split, Edwards and Woods had dated for about a year-and-a-half.

For the last several months, Edwards, along with his son's mother, Maci Bookout, and her co-stars Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell, has been filming the fifth season of Teen Mom, which was confirmed this past August.

Although it hasn't been officially revealed, Woods is expected to be seen on the show, and if she is, fans may finally discover why she and Edwards called it quits so suddenly.

Teen Mom season 5 premieres on MTV later this year. Also included on the series are Gary Shirley and Tyler Baltierra.
