5 Seconds of Summer is off to a great start in 2015!

5 Seconds of Summer's Ashton Irwin Greatly Impressed With Michael Clifford's Mancave

On Thursday it was revealed that the Australian band got a nomination for this year's BRIT Awards. It's their first ever nomination at The BRITs, but they did attend last year's award show.

The BRIT Awards Twitter sent out tweets on Thursday revealing all the nominees in the various categories for this year's show.

Does 5 Seconds of Summer's Calum Hood Have A Girlfriend?

The band is nominated for International Group.

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford are up against the following four acts: Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, First Aid Kit and The War on Drugs.

The BRITs website revealed The Black Keys and Foo Fighters have received previous nominations in this category and have each won. The Black Keys won in 2013 and Foo Fighters won in 2008 and 2012.

First Aid Kit and The War on Drugs are in the same boat as 5SOS since this is their first nomination ever at The BRITs too.

Anyway, Irwin and Hood are thrilled for their band's nominee.

They retweeted The BRIT Awards Twitter announcement on the band's Twitter account and then each revealed their excitement over their band's nomination on their personal Twitter accounts.

Irwin revealed on Twitter with six teeth-baring smiley face emojis, "WE ARE NOMINATED FOR A BRIT AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!"

He also shared he's "S T O K E D".

Hood on the other hand, initially asked, "how do we compete with the foo fighters [?]"

He then shared it's "amazing" to get nominated.

He followed that up with tweeting about how happy he is to have the fans in his life.

The award show takes place on Feb. 25 at London's O2 Arena.
