Another actress has officially wrapped up her filming at General Hospital.

Kristen Alderson, who has portrayed both her role as the former One Life To Live's Starr Manning, ans new role Kiki Jerome on the soap for three years, has announced her intentions to leave the soap opera behind--and even finished filming scenes for the show as well.

According to Soap Opera Digest, the actress decided to leave the show after first landing her role as Starr on OLTL at just six-years-old. When the soap was cancelled and went off the air in January 2012, she then crossed-over in the role to GH, before her character was reworked with a new identity in 2013 following a legal dispute between ABC and Prospect Park over the rights to the character.

Chad Duell, Alderson's on-screen ex and real-life boyfriend, confirmed the news on his Twitter account shortly after the news broke, noting that it was her decision to leave.

News of her departure from the soap set off a firestorm of theories that she was leaving for another soap-with reports circulating that she was set to join any of the other three remaining ones-which caused Alderson to speak out about her decision and confirm that she has no intention of returning to the soap opera world, and is instead choosing to explore her options outside of acting for a while.

"I decided to tell you guys myself why I decided to leave General Hospital, and I did, and it's because...well, it's not because of the cast and crew I can tell you that right now," she says in the video. "Everyone has been so lovely to me, I've had the best time over the past three years, and this decision is purely spur of the moment, kind of an epiphany that I had that I've been in this amazing little soap bubble since I was six years old, and now I'm 23. I've never done anything else, I've never pushed myself, I've never challenged myself to do other things, not necessarily in the industry, but things in life, like taking a class here and there for something other than acting, and getting back into singing...who knows where this road is going to take me?"

"But this has all happened very quickly, but I'm prepared for the worst," she continued. "I'm prepared for any failures, I'm prepared for all of the excitement that it will bring. And it's just a new chapter in my life."

Aldersen also shared a photo on her Instagram page from her last day of shooting, confirming she wrapped as Kiki Jerome on Jan. 14.

"That's a wrap and that's life. #3wonderfulyears," she captioned the photo.
