Momoa recently appeared at the Sundance Film Festival where he spoke on Aquaman's appearance in Batman v Superman and even more about the aquatic superhero.

"Well, just going off what you've seen so far ma'am, I don't think he is going to be blonde or white," he revealed, answering a fan question. "I can't really tell you because I haven't shot it yet. I hate to disappoint. But um, you know, I'm a little different than what those others. I hope you watch it with an open heart."

Momoa teased that something very cool was ahead for Aquaman in the 2016 film, which he learned after meeting with the film's director Zack Snyder.

"Well, things are going to be a little different," he said. "When I first went in I met with Zack [Snyder]. His idea is pretty amazing. When I went in, he told me ... my jaw kind of dropped. My jaw doesn't normally drop. What he has planned for the DC world and for ... definitely for Aquaman is something that, you know... I think I was brought on for a certain reason and they got some really cool plans for him. I'm really excited for everyone to see it."

Momoa is pretty well-known for his bulky appearance and his long hair as well as his darker skin, which is quite a departure from the Aquaman of the comics, who is very blonde and very white.

Aquaman will apparently only be featured in a cameo appearance during Batman v Superman, with a feature film planned for 2018.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
