Law and Order: SVU actress Tamara Tunie is headed to court, but this time it's not for a scene on the NBC hit show.

Next Episode Of 'SVU' Will Be 'Worth The Wait'

The actress has confirmed that she and her husband of 23 years are headed for divorce court.

A source close to the actress say that while documents have yet to be filed, the couple has already separated and plans are currently being drawn out.

On the show, Tunie plays the role of the SVU medical examiner, Dr. Melinda Warner. While the actress may be dealing with problems in her marriage, her SVU career seems to be doing just fine.

Every week, the actress graces the small screen for the crime drama television series, and luckily the show is returning on Wednesday night with a brand new episode.

The new episode, 'Decaying Morality,' is about a teenaged girl named Jenna Davis who tells detectives that she was raped in a pizzeria bathroom. Davis's alleged rapist, Jerome Jones, insists that he isn't the man responsible.

Jenna's father takes matters into his own hands, and he kills Jones before he is tried in court. Could Jenna's father have killed an innocent man? Fans will have to tune in to find out.

Law and Order: SVU airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on NBC.
