Jen Arnold from TLC's The Little Couple opened up on having cancer and how she explained it to her two children.

The reality star spoke to Coping Mag for the Jan/Feb issue where she talked about having uterine cancer resulting from a molar pregnancy. This reportedly caused abnormal bleeding and severe hemorrhaging.

"Not long after I was evaluated by my ob-gyn, we discovered that I actually had a tumor in my uterus that was growing uncontrollably and causing the bleeding," Arnold said. "It ended up being gestational trophoblastic neoplasia, which is a type of choriocarcinoma, and it was stage III at that point."

Arnold pointed out that she and her husband, Bill, were very open about discussing the cancer with their two kids, Will and Zoey.

"With Will, we played doctor, we pretended to give each other shots- he may not have understood what cancer was, but he understood that Mommy was sick," Arnold explained.

She let her daughter try on her wigs and showed the kids her bald head.

"We wanted them to understand as much as they could so that it wouldn't be as scary to them," Arnold said.

The reality star ended up completing her treatment where she slowly, but surely, managed to get her life back on track.

"[Cancer] is slowly becoming a distant memory," she said. "For me, life after cancer is about remembering that life is truly short- no pun intended- and we have to prioritize the things that make us happy, the things that we want to do, and the things that are important to us and to those we care about."

The Little Couple is expected to return for new episodes this spring on TLC.
