Country singer Brantley Gilbert can't say it enough: Tim McGraw is one "awesome" guy.

While McGraw has always had a pretty solid reputation within the industry, Gilbert could not help but gush about his fellow artist during an interview with CMT on Thursday.

In addition to calling the the singer "an awesome dude, on and off stage" Gilbert said he was impressed with McGraw's level of commitment when it came to family.

"I had an opportunity to fly with him to some shows," noted Gilbert, "And hearing him call home and talk to Faith and his girls, man, he's just a good father and a good husband."

Married for over 18 years, McGraw and wife Faith Hill have three teenage daughters together. McGraw has often sung the praises of the women in his life, crediting Hill with the success of their many duets. The couple's latest collaboration, Meanwhile Back At Mama's, has earned them two Grammy nods this year.

McGraw will remain at home with his girls as they finish up the second half of the school year, with just a few performances in the spring. His eldest is nearly done with high school and so the star wants to make sure he is there for all the milestones. McGraw will then head off on a much bigger tour across the country this summer.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS from Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
