DeLaria previously made the announcement that she was getting engaged to girlfriend Chelsea Fairless while attending the American Songbook series at the Lincoln Center on Thursday. For those who did not receive the news, however, she confirmed it on her Facebook page, writing:

"Despite their concerns about the patriarchal confines of marriage, actor / singer Lea DeLaria & editrix Chelsea Fairless of Brooklyn, New York are pleased to announce their engagement. No date has been set for the impending nuptials but it's safe to say that it will be the event of the season, or a total s- show."

Along with the announcement, she uploaded a humorous photoshopped picture of her and Fairless in place of Liza Minnelli and David Gest at their much-mocked wedding.

The actress, 56, previously said that she was hoping to invite all of her Orange Is the New Black costars to the wedding, which is tentatively set for July 2016.

"We want to do it in the summer so my entire cast can be there," she explained. "But there's not enough time to get everything together for this summer. We're thinking July 2016. We want a nice long, romantic engagement."

DeLaria plays the popular "Big Boo" on Orange Is the New Black, a woman who is very comfortable in her own skin, enjoying the spoils of making love to several of her fellow prisoners. It remains to be seen if viewers will get a peek into her past to discover how she landed in prison in the first place.

Orange Is the New Black returns for season 3 in the summer on Netflix.
