The release of Thor: Ragnarok has been pushed back a few months, presumably to make room for the new Spider-Man film.

Original Director Could Be Returning To 'Thor' After 2013 Exit Over Creative Differences

On Monday Marvel confirmed that Thor will now be released in November of 2017. The original release date had the blockbuster coming out three months earlier on July 28.

It is believed that the change was made due to release conflicts with the latest Spider-Man project, though Marvel has yet to confirm or deny the claim. Little is known about the upcoming Thor film so far, and the revised release date might mean a delay in producton as well.

Chris Hemsworth Dishes On 'Thor: Ragnarok'

Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first film in the franchise, is rumored to be returning for the upcoming flick with a script written by Craig Kyle and Thor: The Dark World co-writer Christopher Yost.

Actor Chris Hemsworth confirmed his involvement during an interview with Digital Spy on Jan. 29, though he maintains that he doesn't know any of the details just yet.

"There is no script for Thor, the next Thor, so I haven no idea [what will happen]," explained the actor. He did manage to note that the new flick will be "pretty big."

Hemsworth hasn't said whether this will be his last Thor film or not. The actor has been leaning towards more dramatic work lately with films like Blackhat and In The Heart Of The Sea, which means he might be trying to make a move out of the superhero business sometime soon.

Thor: Ragnarok is now scheduled to hit theatres on Nov. 3, 2017.
