After plenty of speculation on what would happen on Mistresses amid Alyssa Milano's departure, an answer has finally been revealed.

'Great Plans' Are About To Happen On 'Mistresses'

On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter announced that another actress will be joining the ABC drama as a series regular. Milano's absence will be filled by TV actress Jennifer Esposito who will play a character named Calista Raines.

Calista is described as an "uber-fabulous and larger-than-life woman with a wicked sense of humor and style." Her job is a creative director of a luxury fashion brand and she has a socialite lifestyle. But of course, she's not going to be all rainbows and butterflies since she'll have a bit of a darker persona underneath the charismatic personality.

She's also going to be Joss's friend and "surrogate sister" who brings her into a mischievous and dangerous world.

Esposito is known for other TV credits, including Taxi Brooklyn, Blue Bloods and Samantha Who? She was also in the Oscar winning film Crash.

Milano announced last fall that she would not be returning to Mistresses.

"After two wonderful seasons in Los angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada, for financial reasons," Milano said in her statement. "It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can't relocate. I have two babies under four. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best."

Mistresses is expected to return this summer on ABC.
