A$AP Rocky & Mike Epps unveiled the nominees for this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards nominees on "106 & Park."

Kanye West received the most nominations with 17. The nods for West were across several categories- as a producer, performer and director. Some of the nominations were for his collaboration with Jay-Z  for the 2011 hit album, "Watch the Throne."

Rapper 2 Chainz scored the second highest number of nods with13 nominations and Drake earned 11.

Epps announced that the award ceremony will pay a tribue to music mogul Chris Lighty. Lighty died on Thursday, Aug.30, from an apparent suicide.

A$SAP Rocky performed at the 2012 MTv VMAs on Thursday, Sept.6.  He opened the show with Rihanna, who performed her latest single "Cockiness" which features Rocky's guest verse.
