On Friday, the world of gaming was reunited with one of their favorite places to go to war, as the development group Valve Software remade Half-Life 2. After seven years of development, the company is offering Black Mesa to game enthusiasts as a free download. To top it off, a full soundtrack will also be included.

The respective download was made accessible earlier in the day through a slew of portals. Valve has provided the official version of the Black Mesa Source Download Page. The web link will take the gamer exactly where the build is located.

There will be a few advertisements that will appear periodically on the page. However, the final download will appear advertisement free, just as the original game always has.

The Black Mesa trailer had been launched earlier in the month and received positive reviews. As seen in the video, the game's mechanics have remained mostly similar with past storylines and the overall gaming scale is said to have improved immensely. The newest Half-Life is considered more visually appealing by many of its fans.

The gamer will now be playing Doctor Gordon Freeman along with the original cast of characters and environments. Black Mesa also includes brand new maps, new models and new voice actors.

Unfortunately for Mac users, the game is only available for PC gamers.
