In recent news it was revealed that Carolco, the production studio behind Terminator 2: Judgment Day, has been revived, and this has spurred the rumor of another sequel from the franchise on the cards.

Child Actor To Play SkyNet In Terminator: Genisys?  

Genisys is coming out under the Skydance productions banner, and if Carolco wished to enter the game it could very well work on its version of a fifth Terminator instalment, although, it will not be released anytime soon, thus couldn't give Genisys immediate competition. Mario Kassar, who is the founder and also produced Judgment Day, told the Terminator Fans that he is very excited about the studio's comeback and that they have $25,000,000 in undertaking. But he did not mention anything about another Terminator movie in the pipeline, suggesting that they would start of with smaller, low-budget projects.

Skydance has already committed to two more sequels, following Genisys. Skydance productions is confident of its schedule and very certain, to have come out with the release dates for three films in the series. The next two in the trilogy are set to release on May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018, respectively.

Recently the official synopsis for Genisys was also revealed. The Terminator Fans got this bit of news and the synopsis reveals that we wil deal with a fractured timeline, and the Kyle Reese will be thrown into a time and space he is not familiar with. The online website also revealed a behind-the-scenes picture featuring producer David Ellison, with rest of the crew. The report also confirmed that the aged version of Arnold Schwarzenneger will play the Guardian in the movie.

Here's the official synopsis:

"When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future..."

Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
