The highly anticipated opening segment for the 87th Academy Awards proved to be a real treat for those expecting Neil Patrick Harris' best, as he burst into song and was joined by two very special guests during the number.

The song, titled Moving Pictures, was an ode to the art form being honored at the annual awards ceremony, and featured Harris singing his heart out-when he was suddenly joined by Pitch Perfect 2 and Into the Woods star Anna Kendrick, who recreated a partial scene from the movie musical, reprising her role as Cinderella, while Harris filled in as her prince.

Kendrick sported a gold ball gown for the number, and jokingly accepted her missing Jimmy Choo from Harris before the two continued singing.

However, their moment was stolen by another special guest from the audience, Jack Black, who then jumped on stage and began singing his own grinch-like number which spoofed on popular films including Fifty Shades of Grey, and begged Harris and Kendrick to stop singing about movies-- before Harris interrupted him and tried to get him to leave the stage. However, Black stood his ground during the number, until Kendrick then shouted at him to get lost.

Overall, the number was a fantastic way to open the night, and gave Harris a strong start on his big hosting gig.
