It seems like Jurassic World has opened doors in the realm of sci-fi for director Coling Trevorrow, as the filmmaker is readying to helm sci-fi thriller Intelligent Life with Steven Spielberg after his take on the epic dino franchise.

Long Run-time Of Jurassic World Revealed?  

Jurassic World is Trevorrow's first major big-budget foray of blockbuster potential. Prior to this, the director was mostly known for indie projects like Safety Not Guaranteed. It seems like the association with Spielberg has paid off, as Trevorrow will be collaborating on the new project with the acclaimed director who brough us the Jurassic Park series.

The Hollywood Reporter came out with the details of the film, which will be produced by Spielberg. Trevorrow will be reprising his collaboration with writer Derek Connelly from Jurassic World as well. The movie has been picked up by Dreamworks.

Meanwhile, there has been no official world on whether Trevorrow will be directing the Jurassic World sequel, which is rumored to be in development stages right now. Although the director had previously hinted at the fact that he would be associated with the next in the series.

JurassicWorld.org revealed that the conceptualisation for Jurassic World II was already underway and it seems like this had been the plan to begin with. The report also states that Paramount is feeling very confident about the success of Jurassic World, to move on to working on the sequel.

Trevorrow had strongly hinted at this possibility while they were still filming Jurassic World, in an interview with Empire.

"We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot," Trevorrow said. "We wanted to create something that would a little less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story."

If the Trevorrow will be directing the sequel as well, seems like his plate is more than full for the coming year.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan, Ty Simpkins and Judy Greer. 

The Jurassic Park films are based on Michael Crichton's series of novels about prehistoric beasts being revived by revolutionary gene technology. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are co-producing the film alongside Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two installments in the franchise. Irrfan Khan and Ty Simpkins also star in the movie.

The film is scheduled for release on June 12, 2015.
