There were quite a few surprises on The Originals this week, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty more ahead.

Klaus & Hayley Hooking Up On 'The Originals'?

Between Finn's (Yusuf Gatewood) temporary exit and Mikael's (Sebastian Roche) emotional reunion with Freya (Riley Voelkel), The CW drama proved that its writers certainly know how to toss in a few shockers. According to Roche, however, things are about to get even more impressive.

On Monday night the actor told fans on Twitter that he hoped they had enjoyed the program's return and that some "extraordinary" things are still to come this season.

Mikael Back For Good On 'The Originals'?

For the first time in the history of their relationship, Mikael and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) have a common ally. Mikael cares about Freya and Freya shares Klaus' desire to stop their aunt, Dahlia (Claudia Black).

Of course, these "extraordinary events" could be a reference to anything, from Dahlia's return to the witch trying to reclaim Rebekah's body (Maisie Richardson-Sellers). Roche could even be referring to baby Hope, whose powers have been touched upon this season though not fully explored.

If the child is half as powerful as showrunners have suggested over the past few months, then the little hybrid might just be more capable of protecting herself than anyone might think.

The Originals will continue on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
