The parodic hilarity ensues, as a follow-up to the one of the most underrated comic gems from 2014, Spoils from Babylon, is on its way and Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig and Haley Joel Osment are set to return.

Rest assured we will get a healthy dose of melodrama that will have us in splits as Ferrell will be reprising his role as Eric Jonrosh in the sequel, The Spoils Before Dying. If the Saturday Night Live talent was not in plentiful already, the new series will also be borrowing the quirks of Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon and Chris Parnell. Other big names that will be joining the cast include Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Steve Tim, Marc Evan Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Tim Meadows, Emily Ratajkowski, Berenice Marlohe, and Andy Daly. Unfortunately, Toby Maguire and Tim Robbins will not be coming back for this one.

The protagonist in this one will be a struggling jazz pianist, Rock Banyon, played by Williams.

Here's something of a synopsis for the miniseries as per Deadline:

"Set in 1962 during the height of the Los Angeles jazz scene, The Spoils Before Dying follows Rock(Williams) as he becomes the prime suspect in the double murder of singer and his occasional lover Fresno Foxglove (Rudolph) who is found dead in a car with another man. Panicked, Rock splits town for Mexico where he reunites with his one-time big band singer Delores O'Dell (Wiig). Determined to prove his innocence and avoid the electric chair, Rock and Delores head back to the U.S. on a dangerous journey for the elusive truth. All the while, Rock's hard-charging manager Alistair St. Barnaby (Osment) obliviously pressures Rock to record a mainstream jazz album."
