Fans of John Green's tearjerker The Fault in Our Stars have been rewarded for their loyalty to the popular author, with the official trailer release of the newest film adaptation of one his novels, Paper Towns.

Green himself revealed the trailer exclusively on Today March 19, and explained how it will be different from the somewhat more emotional Fault in Our Stars.

"It's a story about all different kinds of love, not just romantic love, but also friendship and how special friendships can be when you're in high school," Green said. "It's much funnier than The Fault in Our Stars, which had some sad parts."

The film will be released this summer, and stars Cara Delevingne as an eccentric young woman, Margo Roth Spiegelman, who goes missing after a night out with her neighbor, Quentin Jacobsen (Nat Wolff). Following her disappearance, Quentin and four of his friends go on an epic road trip in an effort to find Margo.

The trailer opens with Quentin detailing why Margo is someone so amazing, and reveals that despite being neighbors, they aren't close-until the night Margo enlists his help to complete a list of tasks.

The two then take off on Margo's revenge plot against her new ex-boyfriend, who she learned was cheating on her-but the next morning proves to makes the story more complicated, after she winds up missing.

"Margo always loved mysteries. Maybe she loved them so much, she became one," Quentin says in the trailer after learning she was gone.

The true adventure then begins after Quentin realizes Margo wants him to find her-so he finally does something like take a risk.

Paper Towns opens July 24. Watch the trailer below.
