Should politicians be allowed to play online games? Republicans in Maine say no.

After discovering that Democrat candidate for the Senate seat, Colleen Lachowicz , played the online game World of Warcraft her competitors jumped on the chance to start a new type of political attack.

Lachowicz is campaigning to take the Senate seat currently held by the Republicans and is responsible for the area between Lewiston and Bangor.

While she spends most of her time on her race for the Senate, she also enjoys her other life as Santiaga, a level 85 orc in the massively multiplayer online role playing game World of Warcraft.

When her opponents found out they jumped on the chance to show the negative sides of what she says while playing the game while trying not to criticize her choice of playing the game. They created a website called "Colleen's World" that shows some of her character's not so pleasant worlds.

"This is not about her playing video games, this is about the comments she made while gaming," David Sorenson, communications director for the Maine Republican party, said to ABC News

It seems Colleen's alter-ego has made some harmful comments about her opposing party. One comment made about Grover Norquist, a conservative tax icon, said that she "may have to go and hunt down Grover Norquist and drown him in my bath tub."

"These are all things that are unbecoming to a state Senator," Sorenson continued.

Lachowicz defended herself in a statement saying: "What's really weird is that the Republicans are going after my hobbies instead of talking about their record while they've been running Augusta for the last two years. Instead of talking about what they're doing for Maine people, they're making fun of me for playing video games."

She continued saying that many famous people play video games such as Jodie Foster, Mike Myers and Robin Williams."Maybe it's the Republican Party that is out of touch" Lachowicz said.
