Mindy Kaling Dishes Out Advice That All Women Should Follow

After major changes for her character, Mindy Lahiri, it was inevitable that the season would end with yet another incident.

Lahiri faced relationship issues with boyfriend Danny, a short-term move to San Francisco, a new business and a surprise pregnancy this season, and it ended with both Mindy and Danny having second thoughts about their relationship.

"Whenever Mindy's life seems too perfect ... it's important that we throw her a curve ball," Kaling revealed in the interview.

The rift becomes apparent when Danny fails to show up in Boston to meet Mindy's parents because he realized he didn't want to get married afterall.

Then, the two were forced to face the facts during her babyshower when four of her ex-boyfriends showed up because Morgan was convinced one of them were the actual father to her unborn baby.

The episode ended with Danny flying last-minute to meet her parents and declare his love for her, but there is no official fourth season called for the show, and viewers have no idea how the show will progress.

"I love cliffhangers. I do think it is risky to literally open the door to new characters who hopefully we are going to care about: Mindy's parents. [But] I I just have faith we're going to come back because I feel the love for the show with my fans [and] with the network and studio. We knew that it was a big choice, but I never thought it was a miscalculation; I was always excited about it. I didn't write the finale as though it were the series finale. I just have too much faith that the show will continue," Kaling said.
