Samsung has released a web page recently that allows Galaxy S3 owners to stay updated with status alerts on the roll out on the device of Google’s new operating system - the Android 4.1, JellyBean.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update began rolling out across Europe and a few other areas of the world recently and the rest of Europe, and other regions should receive the update as well soon.

The update can be accessed OTA (over-the-air) or through using Samsung KIES software.

It is recommended that users download the update while connected to a Wi-Fi connection, and have their device plugged in to charge, or at least have more then 50 percent of the battery life remaining on the smartphone. This should ensure that there are no disruptions to the update that could potentially cause problems for the device.

The JellyBean will provide users with Project Butter, a new feature that allows for smoother UI animations, as well as Google Now, which is an offline voice typing support. Other features include a better notification area with expandable notifications, and better settings organization.

The update also features S Note which replaces S Memo, a faster web browser, as well as various other performance enhancement changes.

Meanwhile rumors continue to circulate that Samsung are already preparing to release the next generation Galaxy S smartphone - the Samsung Galaxy S4. Already there are rumors that the device will launch as early as February 2013 when the next Mobile World Congress takes place in Barcelona, Spain.

It has been rumored that the new device will include a 5-inch Super AMOLED 1080p HD display, sparking further rumors that the device will not be the Galaxy S4 - with many saying it would be too early for a complete successor - but rather a Samsung Galaxy S3 HD.
