Sonja Morgan first gained fame as a fixture of the New York social scene during the early 90s. The model-turned-luxury brand consultant was called “The Straw that Stirs the Drink” by Esquire’s Food and Travel Correspondent John H. Mariani and was even once referred to by NYC icon Donald Trump as “the glue” connecting the city’s elite. The tabloids romantically linked her to royalty, rockstars, and pro-athletes and she was married to Morgan family (of JP Morgan fame) scion John for 10 years.

Sonja has gone on to dabble in philanthropy, party planning, toaster oven cooking and fashion design. But most folks will probably know her best as a cast member of the Bravo reality staple The Real Housewives of New York, which she joined in the show’s third season.

Enstars recently got the chance to catch up with Morgan, to talk about RHONY season seven, her recently launched own clothing and jewelry lines, and her thoughts on the return of Bethenny Frankel.

Enstars: How did you feel going into the seventh season of 'RHONY?' Was it different than previous seasons?

Sonja Morgan: This season was very exciting because we all got to know the newer housewives so I would say the relationships had jelled and we could go deeper into our storylines. It was nice having a history with every castmate to work off and having a certain trust level. If that's possible! We ARE in front of the world.

Is Ramona Singer Dating A Younger Man?

ENS: Which of your co-stars are you closest to?

SM: I wish I had more time to spend with all my costars but I would say Ramona, LuAnn and Heather. There is also not much I can't discuss with Bethenny. She's been there for me

ENS: So you must have been happy to hear Bethenny Frankel was returning to the show?

SM: Yes! We could use some or her creative energy and we have similar situations to bond over.

ENS: What can you tell us about the new housewife, Dorinda Medley?

SM: She's terrific and hit the ground running. No problem fitting in with this one. I had met her at least 100 times but filming together in the same city I have more time to get to know her. I felt I already knew her, because we had lots of international friends in common. Before my marriage and to a large extent I had spent most my time abroad.

ENS: You officially launched your fashion line in February. Are there any pieces from your line that you're most excited for fans to see?

SM: I’m really excited for what I call the “tuxedo jogger’ pant. Its a take on the jogger trend with a satin tuxedo stripe down the side. It has a drawstring finished gold metal hardware that really elevates the look--plus they fit great on everyone! I’m also excited for my skirts that we are working on. Anyone who's known me for a long time knows that I love skirts! And of course my staple, the classic pearl stud.

ENS: Will these collections be the first of many?

SM: Yes, I’m constantly coming up with new ideas for the collection and was very pleased with my Spring Summer Capsule collection that was shown at New York Fashion Week. There are always more to build upon so I’m excited to continue and see whats next! Fall is looking great.

ENS: Can fans expect to see your new line on the show?

SM: Yes, they will see me this season wearing my line at various events and more and more as it continues to develop. I love wearing my pieces and getting requests from my friends and fans!

The Real Housewives of New York City airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
