On Friday, series creator Lizzy Weiss took to her Twitter page to tell fans that a scene was filmed that will have something pretty crazy taking place.

"We are shooting a surreal (and slightly insane) scene tonite," she wrote. "Saving BTS photos til after we air to explain how we did it. #SwitchedAtBirth"

Since the series has had a number of insanities taking place in the past year, there are a number of possibilities on what the creator could be referring to. There is the matter of what lies ahead in Daphne's professional future as well as where the relationship is going to stand between Bay and Emmett.

One of the most recent controversial storylines that happened was Bay's campus assault when she slept with Tank while she was drunk. This led to the question of consent and who was more at fault. Weiss previously explained to Flavorwire that this situation was a lot more complicated than it appeared to be.

"First of all, the more straightforward situations have already been covered a lot on TV, and I wasn't sure we had much new to add to the story," Weiss said. "What we were reading about and hearing about were situations that were much more confusing to all parties involved about what really transpired."

Switched at Birth is expected to return this summer on ABC Family.
